Thai Massage

Hi Everyone, I am back!!!!

I apologize for being way for so long but I promise you, I have NOT been sitting around doing nothing. I've been busy. I've had a job change, went for an amazing and fantastic learning experience trip with Inspire Massage to Thailand to learn of the more authentic way of Thai Massage. It was amazing, there were about 18 of us on the trip and we came away not only with new skills but has became firm friends. So hence, I am now doing an offer on Thai Massage. What a better way to share than to offer the treatment at a reduced price!!!

I am just writing to let you know that I will try to have a bi-monthly offer. This is so that you can try out any treatments that you've never had before!

THE CURRENT OFFER FOR JULY-AUGUST 2012 IS THAI MASSAGE. INTRODUCTORY RATE AT £35 PER HOUR AND WITH ANY OF MY TREATMENTS, ITS £10 FOR EVERY SUBSEQUENT 30 MINUTES THEREAFTER.

Normal price is £45 per hour and £10 for any subsequent 30 minutes thereafter. The price is only valid if you book and come for you treatment between the 1st July 2012-31st August 2012.

What is Thai Massage?

Thai massage is basically an  assisted relaxing yoga session where a masseuse  manipulates you body & apply gentle pressure to your muscles. Thai massages usually take place on a big cozy floor mattress and you are required to wear loose pants and a t-shirt so your body can easily move around. Each session usually lasts around one to two hours and just like yoga, your breathing is very important since it will aid you through each pose.

If you are worried about pressure pain  Thai masseuses are trained to use both soft to hard pressure. The masseuse will guide you through various poses working the different energy lines that are said to treat different organs on these energy meridians. Because of this, Thai massages helps to balance your qi (energy), which in turn can promote healing. Unlike Swedish massage where you lie in one position, the different poses in Thai massage force fresh circulation to specific areas of your body,  helping with lymphatic drainage and  return of blood to the heart and digestion.

Although you'll be moving around, Thai massages are really quite relaxing since they return your body to a Zen-like state. You may even notice on day two or three how loose your once tight muscles and stiff joints still feel.

The benefits of Thai Massage:

PHYSICAL BENEFITS
· Helps detoxify the body and boosts immune system

However, people with the following conditions should consult a doctor before receiving Thai massage: fever, cancer, osteoporosis, and pregnancy, open wounds, newly healed fractures, infections of skin, varicose veins, and previous surgery on spine on any part of their body.

As most of you probably know, I have already been doing table Thai massage for the past 2 years. Since then, I've been to Wat Pho Thai Traditional Medical School in Bangkok to learn more of the authentic  way of Thai Massage.  I've just returned from my trip with a group of about 18 therapists doing the same course. It has been an amazing experience and the only way of sharing the experience is to administer the treatment. I am now thinking of going back next year to learn more!

This is taken from Wat Pho Medical School site:

Wat Phra Chetuphon, or "Wat Po", is well known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, as well as being Thailand's first “open” University. After present Chakri Dynasty in 1782, HM the King had a royal instruction to restore Wat Po to be the first grade of royal monastery. From the great restoration during King Rama I and King Rama III, Wat Po came to be the center of Thai Arts and Knowledge where the wisdom of Thai Traditional Medicine and Massage were gathered from the ancestors and is still passed on today, e.g. instruction of herbal drug recipes, diagnosis and treatment for general ailments, baby illnesses and healing methods, massage inscriptions and drawings, Ascetic statues etc.

Being the base of Thai Medicine, Wat Po Thai Traditional Medical and Massage School was opened in 1955 inside Wat Po. It is the first Thai Medical School under the approval of Thai Ministry of Education. The school presently offers 4 basic courses of Thai Medicine that are Thai Pharmacy, Thai medical practice, Thai Midwife Nurse and Thai Massage.

Wat Po TTM is acknowledged worldwide and the school's original Thai Traditional Massage treatment and training course that is sometimes referred to as Wat Po massage. A large number of Thai and foreign students that graduate from the school participate in Thai Massage as well as enter into the spa business all over the world.
